CONSTITUENTS SERVICES
As your next 36th Ward Alderperson, I will make sure residents of the 36th ward have a seat at the table. No matter your background, I want to hear what can be done to improve your life in our ward. Our office will always be open for city services and other service requests. If elected I look forward to being accessible to the 36th ward residents. I will hold regular town hall meetings and I will have weekly ward nights back.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Failed leadership and dangerous policies have left Illinois less safe. As we continue to face challenges I will be committed to making our neighborhoods better places to live, work, and play. Police cannot solve the crime problem alone. We need people in neighborhoods to be active partners in public safety.
LOWERING PROPERTY TAXES
It can be done if we trim Chicago’s government waste, and increase government accountability. Removing unnecessary and redundant layers of government could offer residents much-needed property tax relief as well as streamline services. Currently, Illinois is #1 in government units and #2 in property taxes.
AFFORDABILITY
We need more diverse types of housing units, such as apartments, townhomes, and/or single-family homes for people with a range of income levels. Many people living in struggling neighborhoods lack affordable, quality housing options. A model of mixed-income housing offers the environments and amenities to help residents thrive by elevating the standard of living for the lowest-income residents while providing the quality amenities that attract people with a choice to the neighborhood.
ANIMAL PROTECTION ISSUES
Weather-related laws, the indirect sale of puppies via Facebook advertising, commercial breeding, and harsher penalties for animal abuse and neglect are all issues that are significant to me.
EDUCATION
Jacqueline believes that parents matter, and she'll never put government bureaucrats or politicians between parents and their kids. As your next 36th Ward Alderperson, Jacqueline will empower parents and restore excellence and commonsense in education.
FAIR & TRANSPARENT
I will give battle for a fair, transparent, accessible, and accountable government for our communities. Ending map gerrymandering, advocating for Term limits, and requiring strict compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) are some of the ways through which this can be accomplished.
TERM LIMITS
Serving should not be a life-long endeavor. Politics was never meant to be a career, but a duty to society. I believe in term limits to a maximum of three terms or less.
